We are making progress, I think.
I cut some dadoes in my strongback so it would sit more securly on on the sawhorses
Then I skinned the top with 3/4" ply so I would have an even top surface (more or less).
Then I started adding the brackets. They have to be aligned both vertically and horizontally, so I am using some string to give me a line to work with.
While they are not yet fully aligned (I may pull out my laser to do it extra fine. I could resist test fitting my keel stringer. Notice the really nice curve!
Real progress now!

Nice work. Looking forward to kayaking with you this summer....me in my fibreglass beauty, and you in your brand-spanking-new, hand-crafted kayak. Good times ahead, yes?
